Sharjah Cooperative Participates in GCC Unified Inmates’ Week Activities

Sharjah Cooperative Society has contributed Dh20,000 as part-sponsor of the fourth GCC Unified Inmates’ Week activities, under the banner “together to achieve reform”, an event that was opened by Sharjah Police chief, Brig, Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, along with Sheikh Aziz Farhan Al Anzi. Sharjah Cooperative also contributed through its distinguished stand at the heritage village’s events alongside the Unified GCC Inmates Week, where it displayed its products under its own brand name “Sharjah Cooperative” and gave away gifts to visitors.

Majid Al Jeneid praised the role being played by the punitive and correctional establishments in enhancing the positive attitude shown by inmates and in limiting negative behavior, in addition to their role in keeping inmates during their incarceration and working to rehabilitate them through educational therapy to become good members of society after leaving prison.

The Unified GCC Inmates’ Week includes several events and programs besides the heritage village, remarkably the mobile exhibition for the inmates’ products, at the government establishments and the commercial centers, in addition to cultural, social and sports competitions between the inmates’ teams, and lectures given to new Muslim inmates and non-Muslim inmates who wish to learn about Islam; other events take place between the inmates and their families for the first time in the Gulf Cooperation Council’s countries.
