Sharjah Cooperative Society Celebrates 44th UAE National Day

Sharjah Cooperative Society held a celebration that included an assortment of events and activities celebrating the heritage and culture of the United Arab Emirates at Al Suweihat branch on the occasion of the 44th National Day, attended by Sharjah Cooperative board members HE Mohammad Amin, HE Saleh Al Qabid, department and branch managers, section heads, staff and many shoppers.

His Excellency Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the board, congratulated His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan, His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, their brothers Supreme Council Members Rulers of the emirates, Crown Princes and UAE nationals and expatriates living on this land on the occasion of the 44th National Day of the United Arab Emirates.

Majid Al Jeneid expressed his pride in the 44th National Day and his gratitude for all efforts made by the wise leadership to achieve stability and security in all parts of the country, his appreciation for the astonishing achievements made thanks to the union, and he stressed the Cooperative’s keenness to celebrate this occasion along with all other establishments in the country as an expression of and allegiance to the country’s wise leadership and all others who helped found the union.

The event started off with a recitation of the national anthem of the UAE, followed by reciting the pledge to allegiance by all who were present, then showing a short film about the UAE, a performance by Al Harbiah folk group, a “Ula” dance show, in addition to a recitation of a variety of poems on loving the UAE, all in distinguished interactive spirits.

The event was intertwined with competitions relevant to the heritage of the UAE in a lively atmosphere, followed by presenting winners with valuable gifts including mobile phones. To conclude the show group photographs were taken and the activities continued until 10 o’clock in the evening with children taking part.
