Sharjah Coop wins the Sharjah Excellence Award for the "Gulf Localization" and "Social Responsibility" categories.

Sharjah Coop, one of the first established cooperatives in the country, culminated its unremitting efforts by winning the Sharjah Excellence Award - 2022 session, for the two categories of the "Sharjah Gulf Localization Award" and the "Sharjah Award for Social Responsibility", yesterday at Expo Sharjah where His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, honored Sharjah Coop, in the presence of Mr. Rashid Bin Huwaidin, Executive Director of the Supply Chain Sector, during the ceremony honoring the winners of the Sharjah Excellence Award 2022, at the Sharjah Expo Center.

His Excellency Majid Al-Junaid, CEO of Sharjah Coop, confirmed that this victory was the result of the cooperative’s efforts in the fields of Gulf localization and social responsibility, which the cooperative considers to be among the pillars of the development and prosperity of the work environment, indicating that this victory imposes greater responsibilities that require more efforts to preserve the gains and move on. Moving forward in the development process to achieve more achievements and successes at various levels. His Excellency congratulated the members of the Board of Directors and all the functional cadres, considering that this achievement was the result of teamwork that devoted the concept of one team spirit.

The Sharjah Gulf Localization Award is one of the important awards that came as a result of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide job opportunities and a suitable environment for citizens of the state and other citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The award includes 3 axes represented in recruitment and employment, training and qualification, and job sustainability. It aims to motivate the Gulf private sector establishments, especially the large, medium, and small ones, to employ the largest possible number of citizens and Gulf nationals, and to show the role of the private sector represented in the members of the Gulf chambers in settling the largest possible number. In the Gulf establishments, highlighting the inclusion of this honor within the social responsibility of the Gulf private sector, creating a competitive environment in increasing the number of Gulf employees among establishments within the provisions of the Gulf common market, and benefiting from the expertise and services of consultants, including retirees, in recruitment and localization processes.

The Sharjah Award for Social Responsibility targets the establishments of the public and private sectors in Sharjah, which have developed a work system that simulates the most basic axes in the field of social responsibility, such as society, the environment, the workplace, and sector owners.

Entities interested in participating in this award are required to seek to improve their "Corporate Social Responsibility Performance" and consider it an opportunity to promote their activities, enhance their reputation, competence, volume of production and success as leaders in achieving sustainability, and celebrate the important contributions made by social responsibility practices to our societal economy and the human environment.
